(ECNS) -- China is racing against time to develop 4- and 5-meter- diameter reusable rockets, which are expected to launch in 2025 and 2026 respectively, according to the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
Vertical takeoff, landing, and hover tests for the reusable rockets have been completed with breakthroughs in key technologies.
Compared with traditional disposable rockets, the reusable one highlighted four key technologies, including the accuracy during return process, stable landing and recovery technology, the lifespan of the reusable rockets and the time-effective maintenance technology.
Reusable rockets are crucial for future space exploration, as they offer cost-effectiveness, high efficiency, technical complexity, and are environmentally friendly, an expert said.
